About us

About us...

We love what we do and we think it shows. With well over 100 years of experience with horses between us, we know just how amazing they are, and just how much they can brighten even the dullest of days.
We want to give as many people as possible the chance to experience what we are lucky enough to have in our lives every day.

You're important to us

Every one of our customers is unique. That’s why we customise our visits to suit your precise needs. We will work with you to create an experience that fits the bill, whether that's a unicorn in your back garden, or delivering smiles to residents in settings where they are no longer able to get out and about.

Meet our team

The humans

Kaf is the founder and CEO of Rainbow Dreaming CIC, and 'mummy' to Jo and Bugs. She has over 40 years experience with horses, and over a decade of working in education. She loves nothing more than to see the joy that horses and ponies (and unicorns) can bring to people. She splits her time between her own horses (a 16 year old ex-racehorse, and 4 year old Dutch warmblood), and managing Rainbow Dreaming CIC to bring smiles to people when they need them most.

Grainne has been working with us for over a year now, and can often be found on the other end of Buggles' lead rope. She has her own horse, Lexi, and loves nothing more than going for long rides in the countryside. She also owns Leia, the sister to Taiza, Rainbow Dreaming's Head of Security!

Chris joined the Rainbow Dreaming team last year, and partners up with little Buggles. He's got years of experience with horses, and has had Chance, his horse, since he rescued him as a foal. Chris loves competing at Show Jumping, but is just as happy hacking around the countryside. He's very much game for a laugh, and is really looking forward to getting out and about and meeting you all.

The boys

Jo is our smallest therapy pony/ unicorn, standing at just 30" tall. He likes nothing better than meeting new people, and his favourite party trick is giving kisses. If you're really lucky, he might just shake your hand too.

A word of caution though,- Jo is VERY nosey, and given half a chance he'll be checking tables, bins, and anything he can pop his tiny nose in - you never know where food might be hiding!

Buggles, or Bugs to his friends, is our newest and youngest pony. He's a 6 year old, American Spotted Miniature horse. He spent last year learning all about being a therapy pony/unicorn, and now he's getting out and about sharing the love. Keep your eyes peeled for this spotty little star who loves a good fancy dress outfit!

Head of security!

Taiza is Kaf's German Shepherd. She's almost 5 now, and has grown up around the horses. During lockdown, Jo was her best friend and playmate.

Taiza often goes out and about with the boys (depending on the weather), and will occasionally pop in to venues to say hi (if requested, of course!).

She's a very busy girl, splitting her time between making sure the boys and Kaf are safe, having fun, going for lovely walks, playing with her sister (who belongs to Grainne), eating, sleeping, and generally doing important 'dog' stuff like barking at stray leaves and imaginary cats.

"Thank you so much for making my party so special with such a beautiful actual unicorn! I loved it so much.”
Hayley Morris (on behalf of Evie, aged 4 years)
